Matthew: The King and His Kingdom, by Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmyer.

The Story of How Christ Established His Kingdom

The Matthew: The King and His Kingdom study program shows how Jesus fulfills God’s promises to Israel and establishes his kingdom on earth. Through references to the Old Testament promises of God to his people and the messages God sent them through the prophets, the Matthew Bible study program provides the key to understanding the rest of the New Testament and Christ as the fulfillment of God’s plan.

Matthew portrays Jesus as the true King who fulfills the Law the people of Israel have failed to keep and who introduces the new law that will accompany the New Covenant. In this 24-part study of the Gospel of Matthew, presenter Jeff Cavins explains how Jesus is challenging and empowering us to a new level of holiness and shows how we must be thoroughly immersed in the kingdom of heaven on earth, the Church, to live it.

Begins September 17, 2019. Cost of materials $37. Registration forms can be found here. Contact Mary Williams with any questions.

Exodus, Commentary by Scott Hahn and Mark Shea - presented by Fr. Patrick Winslow

Exodus is a gripping 1,200+ verse narrative, and one of the most famous ever told. Many of us have heard it since we were little children, but how often have we taken the time to study its chapters as our guiding light, the Church, understands them? Scott Hahn, Mark Shea, and Fr. Patrick Winslow are here to help you do just that. You will quickly discover a powerful tale of redemption and revelation that unquestionably earns its reputation.

In 28 revealing lessons, you will learn:

  • What sacrament the Crossing of the Red Sea prefigures
  • Why we shouldn’t be afraid to study the Old Testament
  • How God responds to us when we try to run ahead of him

In the Christian life, everyone is a pilgrim. What God told Moses thousands of years ago still applies to us today: God will fit us for our tasks. He will never ask us to do anything beyond our strength. Learn how the Israelites mirror our own struggles to accept this, and draw courage from God’s infinite faithfulness to all his children.

Begins September 18, 2019. Cost of materials $50. Registration and payments due August 25, 2019. We can not guarentee materials to those who register late. Registration materials can be found here. Contact Mary Williams with questions

Evening Bible Study

Exodus: Called to Freedom with Tim Gray and Scott Powell

Discover the Source of True Freedom

When God called Israel out of slavery in Egypt and to a life of freedom as his people, it was the defining moment in Israel’s history. The Exodus: Called to Freedom study program looks through the lens of Christ and the Church to show that, more than just seeking to free his people from the domination of Pharaoh, God desired to free his people from the far more dangerous grip of sin.

In this 10-session study, Presenter Tim Gray explains how the Exodus story is not just Israel’s story, but our story as well because it reveals who God is and what he calls us to be. Discover the divine purpose behind the plagues on Egypt and how God’s law reflects his love and concern. Learn the keys to authentic freedom and how a proper understanding of Exodus can illuminate one’s understanding of the Christian faith

Begins September 19, 2019. Cost of materials: $27 (scholarships available as needed). Registration forms can be found here.
