Baptism
Infant Baptism (newborn - 6 years old)
Baptisms take place during the 11:00 am Mass once a month, except during the seasons of Advent and Lent. To schedule your child’s Baptism you
must be a registered St. Teresa of Calcutta parishioner, attend Mass on Sundays and participate in the life of the Church.
Parents
Prep class.
- We ask that parents take the class every four years.
- Classes at St. Teresa are offered by appointment. Contact Analaura Rodriguez to schedule your class (analaura@saintteresa.org) or you can take the class at Saint Brendan in Bothell.
Paperwork.
- Fill the Baptismal Information form. Find the form here.
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate.
- A letter from your godparents’ home parishes verifying that they are active and registered members of their parish and that they have taken a Baptism prep class.
- Send or bring the paperwork to Analaura Rodriguez (analaura@saintteresa.org)
Godparents
- They must be a practicing Catholic over the age of 16.
- They must have already received all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, & the Eucharist).
- They must be free of canonical penalties.
- If you have two godparents, one must be a man and one must be a woman. If they are a couple living together, they must be married in the Catholic Church.
- You are only required to have one godparent, but you may have as many as you would like.
As long as one godparent meets all these requirements, you may have a baptized, non-Catholic Christian as a witness as well. They must still be willing to support you in raising your child in the Catholic faith (this name will not appear on the certificate)
Dates:
The dates for Baptisms for the rest of the year 2025 are: August 17, September 21, October 19 and November 16
